ditto on selenium IDE + Firebug! Great development tools! (I wish firebug had been around the last big CSS project I did -- or that it's JS debugger was around on my last JS project.)

Oh well!

Firebug is (like so much other OSS) an evolution of the existing tools. Venkman (JS debugger) has been around since the early mozilla suite days, as has the DOM inspector. The only bit that's really new is the CSS inspection feature, and a whole bunch of polish.

A great tool... I use it in combination with the web developer toolbar.
