currently available via a subscription pricing model (per server, per

FiveRuns is committed to the Ruby on Rails community and furthering the
adoption of Rails in the enterprise, which is why the company worked
closely with BitRock to develop a free software stack targeted a new

* Developer or production-ready stack configurations
* Latest versions of Ruby 1.8.6 and Rails 1.2.3

RailsConf Europe in September. To enter, you simply need to download a
trial of RM-Manage on the FiveRuns Web site by August 15. Let me put it
this way . . . the odds are really good right now . . . I encourage you
or your readers to submit!!
Please let me know if you have any questions about FiveRuns or
RM-Install. Thanks!

Free Rails Stack <http://www.fiveruns.com/products/rm/install>
Jumpstarts Rails Development for Web Applications
AUSTIN, TX, August 14, 2007 - FiveRuns, a pioneer of enterprise-class
management for Rails <http://www.fiveruns.com/products/emp> and other
popular open source and commercial systems, today announced a
partnership with BitRock, Inc., the leading provider of custom open
source stacks, to deliver RM-Install: a free, multi-platform,
enterprise-ready distribution of open source software for Ruby on Rails.
RM-Install enables companies to quickly and easily deploy a complete
stack for their Rails applications
<http://www.fiveruns.com/products/rm/install> without the worry of
installing, configuring or maintaining various integrated software
components.
RM-Install, powered by BitRock, includes:
* Developer or production-ready stack configurations
* Latest versions of Ruby 1.8.6 and Rails 1.2.3
* Bundled pre-compiled binary packages including Apache Web
Server 2.2, MySQL Database Server 5.0, SQLite 3.3, ImageMagick 6.3 and

up and running with the software as soon as installation is completed.
"Just as the FiveRuns Enterprise Management Platform makes managing open
source and commercial systems easy, RM-Install makes it easy to start
building and managing enterprise-ready Rails applications
<http://www.fiveruns.com/products/rm/manage> ," said Dean Cruse, VP of
business development for FiveRuns. "BitRock's expertise in integrating
open source software takes the guesswork and errors out of the
installation and configuration process for Rails, making it easier for
organizations to use and furthering enterprise adoption of Rails."
"One of the biggest challenges of using open source software and Rails
in particular is getting all of the different components to work
together," said Erica Brescia, VP of business development for BitRock.
"FiveRuns' expertise and position in the Rails development community
will help ensure that our Rails stack addresses the needs of the
community and receives the widest distribution possible."
RM-Install is part of the FiveRuns Enterprise Management Suite for
