It would have been nice if the petition form worked in a standard browser
(Konqueror, for instance).

The www.openstandards.eu form? What doesn't work?

I'm in the US and given how we seem to interfere with everyone and the
negative reaction that understandably causes, I thought it better if I
did /not/ sign the petition. However, it loaded and appeared to work
right on Konqueror/KDE 3.5.7, without Javascript enabled even, unless the
problem was at or after the "sign the petition" button was pushed.

It was the submission button; didn't do anything. Firefox (Iceweasel
actually) worked fine.

I just signed it using konqueror. No problem.
