Sorry for veering off-topic; just out of curiosity, what is Interix? I ran a Google search and found a Wikipedia page at the top (go figure) stating that it was an optional Unix and POSIX environment subsystem for Windows NT-based operating systems (including Vista).

How is Interix different from Cygwin? Does it bear any resemblance (or relation) to Xenix? Does it use any GPL code? Is www.interix.com run by Microsoft? Thanks!
