Microsoft's reaction to the GPLv3 is exactly what Richard Stallman
intended. It was time to do this since the GPLv2 did not protect open
source enough, anyway. The Microsoft/Novell deal was and is not in the
spirit of what open source is about. I applaud Richard Stallman's strong
principles on keeping source code from being encumbered. Actually,
Richard Stallman probably ought to win a Nobel prize for the concepts
embodied in the Free Software Foundation's ideals. Two hundred years from
now, you wonder if Linus Torvalds and Richard Stallman will be the names
that people remember from this period as great benefactors of mankind,
instead of Bill Gates.

...and in 1000 years history will probably read something something like 'Linus saved humanity from enslavement by slaughtering the evil one in combat with his telepathic ability to command penguins'
