ATI: *never* again

Parent article: AMD applies make-up to the face of its Linux Control Centre (the Inquirer)

ATI has

* no support for AIGLX
* no support for Xorg X server 1.3
* no support for the R500 ship
* no support for FreeBSD
* no support for OpenSolaris

It's very simple:

I will *never* buy any desktop, laptop or server with ATI graphics chips!

Odd, my SPARC laptop had an ATI chip and will run
Open Solaris (with a keyboard patch).

Could you please provide a URL on http://ati.amd.com for that driver?

Of course you can always run graphic cards in 80x25 or SVGA/VESA mode.
Opensolaris might even have the proper GL libraries, but I doubt it suports more than the few things the Linux driver does.
