We want another general purpose file system that
supports a continuous snapshotting.
There are many function for recovering error on filesyste,
journaling, softupdate or RAID in hardware layer.
However, human errors are not covered such function,
a mistyped `rm * ~' is executed exactly and speedy.
A continuous snapshotting is a solution that avoid such disaster.
We believe that LFS is suitable for continuous snapshotting.
NILFS uses so some resources include disk space and CPU cycle for
human.
We will hold a BOF session in Linux Symposium Ottawa June, 2007,
titled "Filesystem support for continuous snapshotting". Please join
to discuss you're interested in snapshotting.
Thank you.
