I have been using WindowMaker since RedHat 5.0 or even before. I keep trying other desktops but always go back to wmaker. I have it setup with a minimal dock, no desktop icons and no clip. I have, usually, 6 workplaces with one application running in each and can switch between them with CTRL-< or Ctrl->.
wmaker just suits the way I like to work
