2.4 release schedule

Is it just me or are 2.4 releases really few and far in between?

Aren't there know security or corruption problems in NAT and ext3 in the current stable release? Why didn't those get fixed and 2.4.21 come out within a few weeks.

I'm all for take-it-slow and have-people-test, but Marcelo seems to have gone too far in that direction.

I know I can patch the kernel myself so I don't have to run 2.4.19, but since it's the stable series it seems strange to have to do that.
