If a average PC user can go from something slow like Vista to something fast like Gnome could be without having to sacrifice any important features or comforts then it'll make Linux look that much more attractive. What are you talking about? Vista slow? On my Dual Xeon with 4GB of ram and 512MB of graphics memory it runs fine ;-)
