The GNOME Project plans a big announcement on April 19 at the Embedded Linux Conference in Santa Clara. The material of the announcement will, beyond doubt, be good stuff, but some GNOME developers, not having been informed of what is being announced, are a little concerned. The following article (subscribers only) looks at how open projects and secret press events go together.
