I'm not sure anyone has done any major comparisons with UML, although, performance has been compared with the real kernel (an obvious means of comparison) -- which suggests that anything VM or syscall intensive will suffer a performance hit, yet more CPU intensive workloads will not.

The vkernel feature is still rather young (introduced in the last release), so there have not been any major optimization efforts yet.
Not sure if it would be worth filtering out one random BSD article, which as far as I can see, is an interesting technological comparison to UML (for those already familiar with UML). And if anything, it has served to cause me to sign up for and maybe even read a linux site I might have otherwise not known about. A little cross-pollination of ideas/information is always good to have, IMHO.
