Seems unlikely. Anybody upgrading to Office 2007 would be in the minority, and they would bear the brunt of complaints about interoperability with everybody else. The only reason people would put up with this is because of compelling new features in the upgrade, but it doesn't seem like such features are there. Therefore I think that the idea that Office 2007 is an inevitable part of the future, is overblown.
