TROLLTECH, REDFLAG LINUX TO PROVIDE eLINUX PLATFORM FOR CHINA
BEIJING, China --JUNE 10, 2002 -- Trolltech and Red Flag Linux today
announced a strategic partnership to cooperate on the creation, development,
and distribution of an embedded Linux platform for PDAs, set-top boxes, thin
clients, and other emerging devices.
"We are proud to have signed this agreement with Red Flag," says Trolltech
CEO Haavard Nord. "Our technologies are complementary, which makes our
partnership a particularly strong one. The use of Red Flag Linux, Qt, and
Qtopia creates a platform that is not only superior for device manufacturers,
but that also gives other software companies easy strategies for expansion
and customization."
The specifics of the partnership include: the founding of a Qt technology
center at Red Flag's Beijing facilities; the distribution of Trolltech's
desktop product portfolio to commercial, educational, and research
organizations nationwide; and the provision of training and professional
services to Trolltech's Chinese customers.
