Description:
A KDE mixer application for KDE 3 and ALSA, that
was born to provide some support for what official
kmix lacked.
I've been asked if kamix is still worth
development... I just don't know!!!
PS: Well, actually it seems kamix is being pretty
used, so the reply to the above question is...
yes, it's worth until it won't be superceded by
something other.
A new release is being prepared, along - maybe -
with a name change.
Changelog:
Changes since 0.6.4:
* Fix: better check ALSA versions, to accomplish
both 0.9.x, 1.0.9 and 1.0.10rc.
* Fix: variuos compilation errors
* New: correctly handle partially muted items
(those who have mute capability on each channel);
use a dedicated status icon for those.
Many thanks go to Chris Clayton and Diego Pettenò
for their collaboration.
Changes since 0.6.3:
* Fix: due to an API change in recent ALSA
versions, kamix could even refuse to start (read:
crash)
* Fix: better checks item capabilities, to avoid
displaying controls that cannot be handled
* New: more complete info on OSD
* New, experimental: levels can be shown as
absolute values, dB (if ALSA supports it) or
percent
* New: grouping has been completely reworked, and
now it works as one could expect: from the "Cards"
tab in the option window, create, rename or delete
groups (except for "Main"), and right-click on
items to move them across groups
* New: alternate groups color
NOTE: precompiled binaries have VU-meter built in,
thus aRts is required (and launched). If you don't
want so, please recompile from sources configuring
with --disable-vumeter
