It isn't, although it's been run on top of the bare metal with a
newlib/libgloss combo.
Generally, it's fairly Linux-centric though. Busybox+uClibc+Linux is a
complete bootable Linux system, and there may actually be more
deployments in that configuration than all other Linux systems combined.
(I honestly don't know. Embedded devices aren't that fancy or powerful,
and the profit margins positively suck at times, but when they say "we
make it up on volume" they're not kidding.)
