Cursory searching says most countries (eg. including china) do use the Gregorian calendar day to day, although some continue to use a totally incompatable calendar, notably the Islamic calendar.

Lunar years, what a crazy concept. How about sidereal years? Jovian years? These countries will probably give up their Islamic calendar over time, because it's just a pain in the butt.
