The Pillars of KDE 4: Decibel Definitions and Benefits (KDE.News)
KDE.News looks at the
definitions and benefits of Decibel. "In part 1, we gave a general
overview of Decibel. In part 2, we cover everyone's favorite section - the
definitions! Well, at least we hope that the definitions will be
informative. Part 3 will describe some benefits for developers while part 4
deals with benefits for users."

The most fundamental piece, DBUS, is already a standard, and being decibel agnostic to platform and GUI toolkits i cant figure out why not ?

Well, at least applying dosent hurt. Its time to cut out the divisory divergences of FLOSS desktops, centered around KDE/Gnome differences.
There always be some differences, hoted ones too,.. but cant the people work toghether in *all* those parts that are possible ? So applying is the first step.
Figuring out what might be the best parts of the Lego is the next,... and that should be platform agnostic, as much as possible, that is, with the INTENTION of making it possible for as many DEs as possible. And that Intention is much more than 50% of the way, if it can catch on the positive judjement of an applying Project Leader... And language should not be a problem, because who knows C should easly know C++ and vice versa, and bindings are already possibel and for many others too.
In an example: i saying that the storage part of Akonadi could be better served integrating something like Gnome-Storage, because it can connect to a real object relational database(postgres), shouldnt insult no one, even if i'm wrong.
I mean, it shouldnt be about who is right or who is wrong, its about what is best even if it loses in some points, but by compensation it will win in many others making it worthwhyle.
Applying and asking for discussion, should be insensivel to the negative critic poison. Its up to the POSITIVE GUY to maintain clarity and firmness in is good intentions. So *Apply* should be heard everywhere... it will not stop work, and most of all can make some wrong ways from wasting time.
