Monta Vista may be a Linux company but I sure looks like they use Windows to prepare press releases :) Seriously, why can't Microsoft use standard character encodings like ASCII, ISO8859-1, or UTF{8,16}? There are also perfectly good HTML tags to encode curly-quotes and other characters.

A few years ago I received a moronised contract from Linuxcare. That was the day I realised certain parts of a company will never eat their own dog food.

A pity, and (in my view) poor PR, but I doubt most Linux companies (or other platform vendors, besides Apple and Microsoft) are any different. Come on, has anyone ever believed that everyone at Sun uses only Java-based thin clients and Solaris application servers? Even since their acquisition of StarOffice? (:
