Results from survey at WeWantLinux.org
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE The WeWantLinux.org survey site has been operating since last August, gathering data on consumer interest in computers pre-loaded with the GNU/Linux operating system. With 1500 survey entries validated, the results show a high level of interest in Linux PCs across the board. The survey site will remain active for the forseeable future, but the preliminary results are worth noting. The aggregate survey numbers represent 72 countries around the world. 60% of the survey participants live in the USA. Over 86% of the participants say they would consider purchasing a new computer with Linux pre-loaded. Looking at just the participants who identify themselves as non-Linux users, over 62% say they would consider purchasing such a machine. Results from survey at WeWantLinux.org Posted Feb 5, 2003 1:42 UTC (Wed) by Peter (guest, #1127) [Link] I can't reach the site at the moment to check, but ... hmmm ... I hope it occurred to them that a survey site called WeWantLinux.org just might cause a wee bit of self-selection in survey respondants. How do you correct for something like that? Register other domains called SteveJobsIsGod.org and so forth, and run the same survey?
