The microclient jr seem like a better choice; $120 (+shipping, $60 for Europe), room for an 2.5" harddrive, and a CF slot in the front. I like it a lot, there is a an article at linux devices

Although 128MB RAM is quite OK for little www-browsing,166Mhz MMX processor makes it pretty sluggish. For everyday
browsing (also on sites using Flash), its speed should be
at least doubled.
And then one needs to add to the price USB mice & keyboard + screen...
