Hello,

We are pleased to announce that the 2007 Linux Symposium will be held on
June 27th ~ 30th, 2007 in Ottawa, Canada. We know that most of you won't
read through this email so here are the highlights. :)

~ The deadline for receiving proposals is Monday, February 5, 2007.
~ Hotel Registration code is LINUX2007
~ If you need a Visa to get into Canada, we suggest you contact us
immediately.
~ Canada Day! The Sunday after the Symposium is Canada Day. We urge you
all to find a way to stay for the fireworks.
~ Contests: There will be contests announced so keep checking the website
for the latest announcements

So, for those of you who feel like reading on, here is a more detailed
version...

CFP
------
The Call For Papers was announced last week, and we will be accepting
proposals until Monday, February 5, 2007. As mentioned in the CFP, we are
expanding the scope of the topics this year and strongly encourage you to
submit papers on any and all leading edge user space development, and
advanced system administration. Please see the Call For Papers for more
information, in particular the deliverable dates as we will be very strict
this year about receiving papers on schedule. You can view the CFP online
at http://www.linuxsymposium.org/2007/cfp.php.

Hotel, Travel & Visas
----------------------------
The registration code for Les Suites is LINUX2007. We strongly suggest
that you book your hotel as soon as possible as we have sold out the hotel
in recent years and expect to again this year. For those of you who
require a Visa to travel to Canada, we would greatly appreciate it if you
contacted us immediately so that we can provide you with the necessary
paperwork well in advance of the event. We cannot guarantee any Visa
request after May 1st, 2007.

Canada Day
-----------------
This also marks the first year the event will coincide with Canada Day
(Sunday, July 1st, 2007) which is the largest annual celebration in Ottawa
that includes musical concerts, art displays, fireworks, and the experience
of joining in the festivities with over 150,000 Canadians as we celebrate
Canada's birthday. We sincerely encourage you to attend, it will be a
very memorable experience.

As we mentioned above, please make sure that you review ALL of the
deadlines for paper submission. With the event happening in June, we
won't have the time to chase after people so if your paper isn't received
when it is supposed to, it will most likely be replaced with one from the
waiting list. :) Besides that, we suggest that you keep checking the
announcements on the website as there will be a number of giveaways this
year. That's all from us, if you have any questions, please don't
hesitate to contact us.

We look forward to seeing you all again this year, and thank you for your
continued support of the Linux Symposium.

Regards,

Andrew & Craig
