What a misuse of statistics! The fraction of *MS-SQL servers* patched is Conclusion: just the opposite -- fractional patch rate of MS-SQl servers

A look at the MS-SQL worm Posted Jan 30, 2003 17:18 UTC (Thu) by slamb (guest, #1070) [Link] The fraction of *MS-SQL servers* patched is 1% divided by the fraction of Win2k systems that runs a such server. That fraction must be very small. So probably a large fraction of all MS-SQL servers was infected.... divided again by fraction that are open to the Internet (that is, not only connected at all but not firewalled). Pretty soon this is going to start looking like the Drake equation.
