VietNamNet tried to talk with Ben Wilkinson, a close friend to Professor Seymour Papert. However, Mr Wilkinson declined to reveal anything about the current status of Professor Papert, as the members of professor’s family do not want to make public the information.

I can find nothing more recent on Google News (as of 11 December 2006, 21:50 GMT-5)

Apparently he is "in a stable condition in the intensive care unit ever since" (he was airlifted to the United States on Dec. 18)
