Their fancy .jhtml article goes blank Firefox on this Linux box, but does it only after the page is fully displayed. To view it I had to reload and immediately hit the stop button. This is truly lame behavior for InformationWeek, but it seems to be par for the course anymore. Everyone has to have his fancy, non-standards compliant web code, to "maximize the viewers' experience." Baloney!

The article is worth the read, though, simply because it is a reminder of how bad legislation can be used to perpetuate monopoly behavior. It is another case of "unintended consequences."

No problem here with Firefox 2.0 and Konqueror 3.5.4 on Linux. Perhaps something with the advertisement you were presented (probably from a third party)?

It worked fine for me in the latest version of 1.5.0.8, but I have scripting turned off.

Seeing as the pirates involved in these monopolies basically wrote the DMCA, I imagine that the consequences are what they intended.

It reloaded once for me too, and put up some weird fullscreen banner? then the site was shown again. Most adservers are rerouted in dns here though.

Ug, jhtml. It's the "proto-jsp servlet" templating language for ATG's Dynamo application server. To their credit, ATG was way out in front of the server side java curve and were the darling of Sun for one brief summer. Then Sun ate their lunch.

I suffered through a Dynamo development project when doing spirituality.com. Not fun.
