It's sad to see that Ubuntu hasn't chosen the road of helping projects like the Nouveau project (which is quite far along in rev engineering the nvidia hardware) or the open ATI drivers instead..

I can understand that people want good support for the HW. But shipping binary drivers when the open projects only need a little help... Sad.
