Announcing the Release Candidate for Xubuntu 6.10
The images of Xubuntu 6.10 RC codenamed "Edgy Eft" are ready for downloading. We consider this release candidate to be stable and suitable for testing by any user. The final release of version 6.10 is scheduled for 26 October 2006. Changes since Xubuntu 6.06 ---------------------------------------------------- * Newer Xfce desktop version (4.4 RC1) with trashcan support and bugfixes * New artwork (usplash, gdm theme, wallpaper) * xfmedia replaced by gxine as media player * new printer configuration GUI from Fedora Core 6 * new desktop calculator application * better support for users with motor disabilities via configurable sticky keys, mouse keys and an on-screen-keyboard application. * Newer versions of firefox, abiword and gnumeric * Other changes common to all Ubuntu variants such as the new 2.6.17 kernel, Xorg 7.1 and the upstart init system Download ---------------------- For live and alternate (text-mode installer) CD images visit the below link.
