Free gadgets need free software
Support the GPLv3's anti-Tivoization principal, the lack of which
threatens to turn free software into proprietary.
Please explain how GPLv3 is relevant here, considering that:
- Creative (along with the vast majority of embedded manufacturers) uses a closed-source OS in its products; and
- even if Creative's OS was under GPLv3, Creative could still distribute a "recommended upgrade" that would break FM recording, and most consumers would still blindly install it; and finally
- the ability to cryptographically sign home-brewed firmware is utterly irrelevant in this case, since users could downgrade to the older official firmware version once they discovered the newer version's lack of features.
