Developers Gather for ODF Day (Yahoo Business)

Yahoo Business reports on ODF Day at Akademy. "The Open Source Development Labs (OSDL) Desktop Linux (DTL) group, NLnet, and the KDE open source development community recently hosted an ODF Day at aKademy 2006. This year the leading open source developers from the KDE community were joined by senior technical staff member representatives from Intel and IBM for a day of seminars and technical talks on the many facets of software development opportunities enabled by the new ISO/IEC 263000 (OpenDocument Format) international standard." GPLv3 talk from the end of the day

I gave a talk on GPLv3 at the end of ODF day.

Not very related, but I recorded it and put the video online and wanted to mention it somewhere before it goes stale:

... the new ISO/IEC 263000 (OpenDocument Format) international standard ...

First of all, the press release has a typo; the ISO/IEC number is 26300 (ISO Catalogue Detail Page).

Second, there appears to be some disagreement over what the actual status is--it definitely isn't published as an IS yet, and it may not even have passed FDIS ("final draft international standard") balloting. The link above shows it's at stage 50.00 as of two days ago, which is immediately before the FDIS ballot begins. (But it may have been proposed as a "fast-track" standard, in which case it's apparently possible to skip from DIS ballot to IS status. If so, it's weird that the status doesn't show stage 60.00 or something close to it...)
