Another possibility is that Mandrake will become a non-profit organization, and survive the same way that Slackware is surviving.

They've made no moves to close the doors. Quite the contrary, declaring bankruptcy is a deliberate attempt NOT to close the doors!

correct this, but there has been no response yet.
I am sad to see this happen; then again, since Mandrake is open source, what will most likely happen after Mandrake going under is that there will be a Mandrake-based distro which continues the Mandrake tradition.
