Yes, unfortunately swf-player and gnash are not really working, i.e. swf-player fails on the majority of flash files I tried, gnash segfaults. Instead of using those experimental programs as an excuse, one should encourage developers of free content to use at least free formats, or better free software and free formats.

Instead I like people, who care about free content, to use free formats in the first place. Yes, I know, people will continue playing with flash and therefore we desperately need a free flash player. But prominent free software advocats should encourage to use free formats, not tell me to use proprietary software (that does not work on my machine anyway).
