What you should (and shouldn't) expect from 64-bit Linux (Linux.com)What you should (and shouldn't) expect from 64-bit Linux (Linux.com)Posted Sep 17, 2006 17:35 UTC (Sun) by zooko (subscriber, #2589)In reply to: What you should (and shouldn't) expect from 64-bit Linux (Linux.com) by pcampe Parent article: What you should (and shouldn't) expect from 64-bit Linux (Linux.com)
I have run the (commercial, proprietary) vmware workstation on my 64-bit Ubuntu for a year or so now. It works fine. The only problem was that it didn't set the title bar on the window, so when switching between windows I had to remember that the unnamed one was the vmware window. In the latest release of vmware workstation that too is fixed.
(Warning: you might have to install some 32-bit libs to run vmware. Not sure if this is still true with the latest version.)
(Hint: apply Petr's latest vmware-any-any patch.)
