Who are the Hacker Bloggers? (Linux Journal)

Linux Journal looks at the business of blogging. "If you look at the font of all wisdom - no, I don't mean Wikipedia, but Amazon - you will find stacks of books with titles like The Corporate Blogging Book, Blogging for Business, Blog Marketing and the rest.  Whatever the title, the basic message is the same: if you're in business, you've got to be blogging.  Because if you aren't, you're not "having the conversation" with your customers, which means, in turn, that you're not getting your message out or valuable comments back."

That usage ("font of all wisdom") is correct according to at least one fairly authoritative source: (dictionary.reference.com).

The humourous part is that this off-colour correction would be itself accurate, were it 1928 or so. Full stop.

The article does not try to provide a complete list, but in omitting Cory Doctorow it may have omitted the most vital open source hacker currently blogging. Cory is important as an open source hacker not only for generally championing open source code but also for showcasing how open source is about more than code ( especially in the areas of publishing practice and copyright ). And on the blogging side, no one gets the message out better.

I mention this not because I'm worried about Cory getting his props, but because we've reached the point where a discussion of hacker bloggers really has to look beyond folks who roll code.

I have certainly enjoyed some of Cory's writings, but can you point to any of his work that is Free? Say with a CC BY or BY-SA license? The stuff I have seen carries the NC option.

While in the general vicinity, does anyone know of any publishers who are willing to publish works with a copyleft type license?

all the best,

Novel writing as performance art?
Hey, it might even be more exciting than watching paint dry.

Publishers are sooo 20th century. Instead, just print your book yourself (or pay someone to do it.) http://www.lulu.com/ No transfers of Copyright involved.
