Is Apple's X11 free?

Parent article: Apple's Open Source Ventures (Linux Journal)

The second link talks about Apple's X11 being "open source", but I can't find any actual evidence that the source code is even being released, much less under a free license.

Hopefully, I'm just missing something, but even if so you'd hope that they would play up the actual source availability.

Their mods to the KHTML library are of course freely released, but that's probably only because the license (LGPL) obligates them to do so. The obvious moral is that if you want your software to continue to be free, choose a copyleft license.

I'm under the impression that Apple's X11 is XFree86... As the licence permits closing it,
I would bet that this is the case.
