That's sad to see, but it's also sad to see that many of the responses to
the post are along the lines of 'but Linux only got X because of Y' or
'but Linux has problem Z'.
I can understand why Linux is the benchmark, but I think that is
something where all of the BSD projects have gone wrong - their members
often try to compete with the Linux reputation rather than with Linux
itself.
I think Mr. Hannum made a very astute series of observations about Linux
too. The management structure definitely makes a huge difference.
One thing I think wasn't discussed that is a factor is the licensing.
It's hard to get a lot of cooperative competitive commercial support when
anyone can slit anyone else's throat for free. GPL++
