The Milter lineThe Milter linePosted Aug 31, 2006 16:22 UTC (Thu) by dskoll (subscriber, #1630)Parent article: A comparison of Mail Transfer Agents - Part Two
The "Relying on Sendmail Milter" line gives Sendmail a 0, Exim a 1 and Postfix a 3??? That's complete and utter rubbish.
Sendmail clearly has the best Milter support and should get a 3. Postfix 2.3 has incomplete Milter support, so it should only get a 1 or 2, though I am keeping my eye on it for the day when Postfix completely supports Milter.
If Exim got a high score because it can do "equivalent" things to a Milter, then the author hasn't read the Milter API. It's far and away the best e-mail filtering API for any of the free MTAs, and possibly for any MTA.
