Marcelo Tosatti has announced the
availability of the third 2.4.33 release candidate, containing a very small
number of patches. He has also announced that the 2.4 maintainership is
passing on to Willy Tarreau, who has been running the 2.4 "hotfix" patch
series for some time. Many thanks are due to Marcelo, who has maintained
the 2.4 kernel since 2.4.16.

Sounds like a good move to me!
Fixes for 2.4 really haven't been released as promptly as one would wish (some 8 months since the last _released_ version?).
Willy on the other hand has been quite responsive in his -hf tree. I think 2.4 is in very good hands!
