An Interview with the Creator of FreeSWITCH (O'ReillyNet)

The O'Reilly Network talks with Anthony Minessale, the developer of the FreeSWITCH telephony application. "Despite the fact that I have contributed a sizeable list of features to Asterisk, working around the politics was almost harder than working around some of the shortcomings in the design. I have raised FreeSWITCH up from scratch in only one-third of the time I had previously spent working on just adding things to a fully-functional Asterisk."

Promising, but no, unfortunately it is released under the MPL Mozzilla Public Licence.

Quote from The Columbia Science and Technology Law Review on MPL:

"The Netscape Navigator is currently being developed as an open source project governed by a so-called public license, Mozzilla Public
License (MPL). The MPL, however, has no copyleft provision, and contains considerable restrictions on freedom software. Indeed, the MPL renders Netscape Navigators development model more like a beta freeware software project than an open source project."

I will not contribute I value my freedom to much.
