Linux-powered robots from France? Oui! (LinuxDevices)

LinuxDevices looks at the Aldebaran "Nao" robot. "Aldebaran says its "Nao" household robot will compete with robotic research prototypes in terms of functionality. The walking, talking, WiFi-enabled bot will stand 21.6 inches tall, and will feature 23 "degrees of freedom" of motion -- three more than the 14-inch tall "Choromet" android announced earlier this week by four Japanese companies. Nao's extra degrees of freedom appear to come in the form of gripping hands."

Interesting devices... Unluckily French robots won't be able to play soccer! :)

Fortunately, we don't play that here in Europe, we don't even know what it is. Some of us play football, however :-)

And even though we can't play that game, we still managed to beat Brazil and be on par with the winners for more than 120 minutes! Only lost on penalties...

They just need to add a 24th degree of freedom to be able to. Do I need to specify which one ? Ask Zidane. ;-)
