I've never even seen a 32-bit clean system, so I'm not sure this is the right question. A more useful question might be "So now all you open source apps run tolerably well when compiled for 64-bit architectures, hmm?" The only problem I see with this question is that it drains the vitriol.

ANSI C89 all the way! Or C99 if you like to live on the edge.
