NewsForge covers the planned activities of the Defective By Design campaign. "The Defective By Design anti-Digital Rights Management (DRM) campaign is urging supporters to participate in a day of action on Friday, June 23. This time, supporters are being asked to call the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and similar organizations around the world to complain about DRM. After making the call, supporters will have the chance to share the results of their call with other participants."

When all these people phone the RIAA and get shuffled off to voice mail, be sure to copyright the message you leave so that if the RIAA reproduces it in any way, you can sue them...

Depends who you are calling "the sharks". If the RIAA is the "shark" then clearly it would not be feeding them, but rather biting back.

All the campaigns in the world won't stop the riaa or drm. However, if we
stop buying their products for a month or so, then you'd see results. When
you buy you actually giving them the money to punish us...

Sure, but due to this campaign some people are probably going to think twice before they buy these products.

People said the same thing about software patents, but the European Parliament did reject the software patent directive. Twenty years ago people said that you couldn't write a free operating system, but we've more than one free OS now.

I don't think DRM is unstoppable either. It will take a lot of effort and when you begin a campaign like this, you won't really notice much effect. But if you're steadfast and continue saying the same thing, I'm sure you are able to change public opinion. And if you for example look at the UK parliament's internet group report about DRM, you see that politicians might even understand more about it than you would think (or at least get advised by people who do understand it).
