Wyse Technology Extends Thin-Computing Leadership with New Linux
Solutions
Twyford, UK, http://uk.wyse.com - 08/06/2006 - Wyse Technology, the
global leader in thin computing announces the availability of Wyse Linux
6.3, the latest release of the Wyse Linux V6 products. The product will
be offered as a free software upgrade for current Wyse customers of the
S50, V50, and 5150 SE thin clients.
Wyse Linux based thin clients offer a flexible client solution in
server-based environments. The modular architecture of Linux 6.3 enables
customers to specify exactly what functionality is delivered to the
end-user, removing unneeded features and adding custom drivers and
clients for their own enterprise environment.
Wyse Linux 6.3 offers support for 802.11a/b/g wireless LAN adapters and
enterprise-class WPA-2 and 802.1x wireless authentication, improved
SmartCard compatibility, enhanced authentication and security, and
double-byte Asian language support. This latest release is built on the
rich feature set of Wyse Linux V6 that includes support for
server-managed applications through Citrix MetaFrame and Microsoft(R)
Windows(R) Terminal Server Edition, VPN security, Firefox web browser,
local terminal emulation, and support for local printers and USB
removable drives.
