Sigh. I told Ye Olde Section editor the article was a bit unripe. That
was a draft.
By "a completely standalone version" I mean "make standalone", where each
applet compiles as a separate program instead of the swiss-army-knife
style one big binary. This is going to be less space efficient overall,
but it makes administration easier for people who want to modify their
systems without rebuilding. (I.E. they can remove applets from the
finished system with "rm" rather than having to rebuild.)
