I fully support this change--I've always considered powering high-draw mass storage devices over USB to be a foolish and dangerous exercise, and FireWire even more so. Running hardware on a connection that potentially underpowers it is just asking for trouble. And the USB coffee warmer, well, whatever floats your boat I guess but don't blame me if your port burns out.
