Happy new year to all of you! Especially those who are no more in the LWN boat. What happened to the staff that could not pursue the adventure with LWN?

Hint for next year: I think LWN.net security page *should* be a part of the paying edition.
As you have noted before, the average mean time to wait before applying a security patch is between 1 and 3 weeks. So delaying your security warnings synthesis will not affect security. On the other hands, any security consultant taking advantage of your (valuable) information analysis should be required to pay (IMHO).
