OpenSUSE 10.1 Is Versatile, but Uneven (eWeek)

eWeek reviews OpenSUSE 10.1. "In the past, we've found that SUSE distributions have lagged behind Red Hat and Debian-based distributions in the all-important area of software installation and management. OpenSUSE 10.1 has made some strides in this area, but the system's software management story remains murkier than we'd like."

I have been using Suse since 5.3 i have 9.2 on my main desktop at home i did install a 10.1b9 copy on this laptop but got rid of it too many problems

Now i read on the lists Novell have said Reiserfs 4 is not usable on a distro yet so then what do Novell do they force this zen rug updater in the retail box and guess what it does not even qualify as ALPHA software let alone beta or distro just what the hell do they think they are upto .

I can see one big result of this game they are playing loss of customers big time , I will NOT be purchasing another copy untill they get there acts sorted out return YOU and full yast2 functionality Gnome needs to be moved out into the Supplemental tree (very important) zen removed at least untill it actually works and does not sit there hogging the machine , Beagled Yea well . Codecs back in for ALL formats of audio and video including FULL DVD playback it works fine in 9.2 so why get all American/microsoftish and take all the decent stuff out if the yanks dont like it tough spin on it AFAIAC they can go play silly buggers in outer space with no space suits on and no oxygen .

Wake up Suse it is YOU that will ultimatley pay the price of your games dont believe me just keep it up and see dont say you werent warned..

Pete .
