Why still run BIND 8? There's the complexity, be it perceived or real (it depends on your site) involved in upgrading to 9. My employer is just now working on upgrading to BIND 9. Incidentally, CERT gave Debian "unknown" status. Debian 3.0 uses a 9.2.0 build, and as such, it looks to be vulnerable. Since a patch for 3.0 isn't out yet and I didn't want to wait around for one, I upgraded to the 9.2.1 build out of unstable.
