Note that the images for PluginJewels come from the game Gweled, a GNOME Bejeweled clone.

They clearly aren't pixel-per-pixel copies of the Bejeweled images, although I don't know if they are close enough to constitute infringement. Given that there have been dozens of "Jewel-matching" games, dating back many years now, it would be interesting to try to put together a systematic timeline and see who is copying whom.

Note also that version 0.2 of Gweled lists the change:

get rid of the windows, copyrighted, game graphics
redraw all gems and switch to SVG
