SUSE Linux 10.1 RC1 released

Does anyone know whether upgrading from older SUSE versions (9.1) will be problem-free, given that they have ripped out the old software package management and replaced it internally with Red Carpet (?? is this so ??)

Regarding the update issue, the best thing would be wait a few days after 10.1 final, and look at the release notes/ read the mailinglist.. But in my experiences, updates works bests if you update from the previous version, e.g. 10.0. This should be also the best tested case. An upgrade (server system) from 9.1 to 10.0 worked also fine for me, but YMMW.And to the package management problems: Quote from Opensuse announce "We're replacing our package manager resolver library with a new version called "libzypp". libzypp is the integration of SUSE's yast2 Package manager and Ximian's libredcarpet. At Novell we used two solutions so far - Red Carpet and YaST package manager - and decided to merge both in a best of breed approach."
