A few weeks ago the Debian Python Modules Team has been created to
collaboratively maintain packages of Python modules.
The upcoming changes are a good opportunity to invite all maintainers
of python modules to join the team :
- python 2.1 and 2.2 have been dropped from unstable
- python 2.4 will shortly be the default python version
- the packaging will probaly evolve to facilitate transitions
- python 2.5 alpha has been published
The team will work very much like the Debian Perl Group and the goals are
similar except that we're going to work on python modules ;-)
Please check out the little documentation:
If you want to join the team, please read the above document. Basically
you need to subscribe to firstname.lastname@example.org and ask there to
be added to the python-modules alioth project. Instructions on how to
use the subversion repository are in the documentation above too.
There's also a #debian-python channel on OFTC where you can discuss with
some members of the team.
Every maintainer of python module is welcome in the team !
Please consider helping out in fixing packages that still depend
